Currently rolling out in beta to early customers, with strong initial feedback.

From executive clarity to admin depth, Compliance Center delivers cross‑product compliance visibility and actionable benchmarking.

Problem & Goals

Midway through design, leadership pivoted the initiative from a single‑product configuration UX to a multi‑product compliance visibility platform. Business goals focused on delivering cross‑platform reporting to improve competitive positioning, while user goals required both executive clarity and admin depth.

Process

The original design displayed all compliances in a file‑tree breakdown, with overall rates and detailed checks always visible. After the pivot, I reframed the hierarchy to emphasize benchmarked compliances and high‑level metrics, tucking away the compliance structure to reduce clutter while keeping it accessible near points of need. I leveraged existing design system components for cohesion, escalated new patterns to the system team, and validated decisions through stakeholder demos and heuristic evaluations.

Solution

The final designs balanced stakeholder clarity with admin depth. Executives gained a dashboard view of cross‑product compliance posture and reporting, while admins accessed benchmarked views with detailed framework checks and remediation paths. The compliance structure remained full‑featured but unobtrusive, supporting audit readiness without overwhelming the interface.

Impact & Reflection

Compliance Center delivered the cross‑platform reporting capability that Gartner identified as missing, positioning PANW more competitively and preparing the product for beta rollout. Customer calls during beta kickoff were extremely positive: “We cannot wait to use it.” Stakeholder demos validated clarity and usability, while the product is now entering beta release with executives and customers actively engaged.

This project taught me to lead through ambiguity and shifting goals, balancing stewardship with stakeholder directives. My design principles, stripping down relentlessly until near breaking, then iterating, kept the product functional and focused. Looking ahead, I envision AI‑driven compliance insights that synthesize deadlines, industry challenges, and automation to help admins prioritize, plan, and execute compliance requirements ahead of audits.
